Delivered by the MRCPUK, the Medical Oncology Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) is an assessment mandatory for all UK-based Medical Oncology trainees prior to CCT.
Both formal and non-formal resources are available to support training medical oncologists, as outlined below:

- The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh are running the biennial Edinburgh Oncology Course, aimed at clinical oncology trainees preparing for FRCR part 2 and medical oncology trainees preparing for the SCE. See here for details on their 2025 course.
